The fifth generation iPhone will be announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this June, according to an Asian financial services firm.

The report by Daiwa Securities also claimed that the iPhone 5 will feature “glass to glass” touch panel technology, something that will be good news for panel suppliers Wintek and TPK Holding.

The financial services firm backs up several recent reports that Apple’s annual hardware refresh will get back on schedule with its traditional summer reveals. The company augmented the trend in 2011 with the October release of the iPhone 4S.

WWDC 2011 was built around software, namely iOS 5 and iCloud. This year’s WWDC is expected to be held during the second full week of June.
