Anonymous hookups with like-minded people on Facebook — sound fun or just a little too skeezy? Whatever the case, that is the promise of Bang with Friends, a new, meme-busting app that its makers hope will “soon” be listed on Apple’s nanny-powered App Store.
So, it’s 8pm on Monday evening, you’re a 20-something and have the itch — which sounds better? The few remaining hours before you turn into a pumpkin spent at the bar or an immediate connection with similarly minded, and one presumes, itchy Facebook friend? Bang With Friends, and its 30,000 registered users, hope solve that conundrum.
Sounds like a privacy nightmare? According to the Bang with Friends site, “Your friends will never know you’re interested unless they are too!”
Fundamentally, if you are already friends with folks on Facebook who enjoy a bit of casual nooky, you will be able to find them more easily on Facebook, assuming they’re running Bang with Friends, too. And, they’re in the process of adding same-sex hookups.
However, as I recall, women and gay men with a reasonable BMI don’t, as a rule, have problems getting it in the first place. Just guessing, but this social media service/meme seems to contain the seeds of its own demise…
