Details For PS Vita Black Ops Declassified Emerge

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is rolling out in November. But if that’s not enough FPS goodness for you, then you’re in luck because the PS Vita is getting their own Black Ops games — Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.

Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified PS Vita

The Playstation Blog recently had a chance to catch up with Nihilistic studio head Robert Huebner over plans for the upcoming PS Vita exclusive. Huebner claims that Black Ops Declassified has gone through a significant visual upgrade since it was last seen at Gamescon:

“I think the most noticeable thing is a significant visual upgrade; a richer color palette, more detailed models, and better lighting overall. Also we implemented an entirely new animation blending system that allows us to capture a lot of nuanced animation that Call of Duty players are accustomed to.”

Huebner states that in developing the game, their focus has been on ensuring fans get the best CoD experience by focusing on controls and weapons:

“The feel of the controls and weapons is a top priority, because that’s a lot of what makes Call of Duty work so well on other platforms. We got a lot of great insight and advice from the franchise veterans on this, but also adapted things for the specific controls on the PS Vita.

And speaking of weapons, fans will be glad to know that Black Ops Declassified will retain many of the attachments from previous games as well as several new additions such as “improved grip, which improves hip fire accuracy, and adjustable stock, which gives full movement speed while using Aim Down the Sight.” Huebner says that these attachments can be unlocked by levelling up your weapons.

What else is in store for PS Vita Players? Huebner reveals that Black Ops Declassified will have a total of 12 perks which will be a mixture old and new. Here’s the seven that he shared:

  • Hardline
  • Marksman
  • Sleight of Hand
  • Lightweight
  • Surplus (extra starting ammo and grenades)
  • Hardwired (immune to Counter Spy Plane)
  • Toughness (reduced flinching when shot)

Each perk should have an impact on creating classes and should make gameplay more interesting.

If xp earnt accross black ops 2 (ps3) and declassified (vita) was combined ide buy a vita bundle 100%. Untill COD is realised cross play or at very least what I’ve described I won’t be buying a vita !

I already have a Vita, so the bundle is not in my plans (for obvious reasons). I plan on picking CoD:BOD, but not on day 1.
