Epica is an iPhone app developed by Wanman Inc. Featured on the Top 20 list of bestselling apps across ten different countries, this photography app is ideal for people who like to take memorable or funny photographs.
You can use Epica to make hilarious and creative photos. Using the Epica interface, you can transform your boring photos into exciting images. You can overlay tons of creative templates to make yourself look like a Medusa, an eldritch horror, a superhero, and much more.
This is one of those rare apps that I couldn’t stop messing around with. This app is totally addictive, and it is a crazy amount of fun to make different weird photos and send them to your friends.
There are plenty of other apps out there like Epica, but none of them come close to matching the quality of the art design here. The medusa headpiece has tons of texture and color, and the monster faces really fit your face well. You may have seen apps like this before, but none of them hold a candle to Epica.
My only real gripe with Epica is the interface. It’s fairly straightforward, but I did frequently find it hard to make the right selection and navigate.
I also found it annoying that there wasn’t a 1-tap option to share a picture via SMS. You can do so by saving the image to your Camera Roll, but since there was 1-tap sharing for Facebook, Dropbox, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, and Instagram, it did seem a little weird not to have an SMS sharing button that was a little more conveniently placed.
Overall, this creative photography app boasts a surprisingly level of quality. Even if you don’t normally like apps like this, try Epica. It’s insanely fun.
