At the D9 Conference in Palos Verdes, California, Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt announced that the company will be launching a much anticipated Groupon competitor tomorrow.

The service will be called Google Offers, and will progressively roll-out daily-special based deals from “thousands of merchant partners”. Google Offers will go live in Portland tomorrow, with other cities, including San Francisco and New York to follow this summer.

Google Offers will integrate with Google Wallet, the search giant’s NFC payment system which is scheduled to enter the marketplace later this year.
