Google has rolled out an updated version of its Google+ social networking app for iOS which adds support for both the iPad and iPod Touch. Previously early adopters could only use the app, which landed in the App Store July 19, on an iPhone device.

While the Google+ web app works great on every apple device, the company’s native apps offer a few features that you can’t get from the web app, including support for setting up and participating in Huddles. The mobile apps also tend to offer smoother performance in comparison to the web application.

The latest Google+ iOS update offers a few performance tweaks and stability improvements. The update also added a new Huddle setting that lets users decide who can send them messages.

While it took weeks for Apple to approve the official application, Google+ is available as a free download from the App Store.
