Winning over magazine readers’ hearts on the iPad has proven tougher than publishers initially thought. Wired users on the iPad complained about a lack functionality and sharing on the magazine’s app, and so it seems that Conde Nast is trying again, only this time with an app revival of Gourmet Magazine developed in HTML5.

Deemed Gourmet Live, the app will launch sometime in the fourth quarter of 2010 with articles, menus, photos and videos, as well as a strong social media component. Robert Sauerberg, the head of Conde Nast’s consumer marketing division, told The Associated Press that the app would be free to download with Gourmet experimenting with various revenue models.
