Apple’s new release iPhone 4S has been plagued by complaints of poor battery life, with Apple acknowledging today that there was an issue but a fix was on the way. Apple issued the following statement to The Loop:

“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices,” an Apple spokesperson told The Loop. “We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”

The Apple user community has supplied several useful tips for conserving battery life until an update is made available, including turning off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Location Services and Time Zone Detection when not in use.
