My Mountain of Debt iPhone App Review: Finance Made Fun

The makers of My Mountain of Debt set out to make a game that would also help people reduce their personal debt. As you pay down your debt in real life, you can advance the story of the game.
The animated bar graphs and graphics in this app make visualizing your debt easy as pie, and this game really incentivizes people of all ages to pay down their debts.
When you first start up My Mountain of Debt, you’ll have to input your current debt amounts. As it stands now, there are only four slots where you can enter the name and amount of your debts, which may not be enough for some people.
The app then goes into an extended animated sequence, which boasts some cute animation and some surprisingly good voiceover work. The story is accessible enough for even young kids to get a basic grasp on how people get into credit card debt. Some users might wish that the app contained a fast forward button to skip through some of the cutscenes, however.
The interface here has been designed to be both simple and colorful. Being able to see your debt in a context other than mere numbers on a bill can really help you to understand your financial situation.
If you’ve been looking for a way to track your personal debt, this app is well worth checking out. Because of its unique point of view and engaging visuals, it really is quite unlike any other app out there in the finance category. Getting out of debt is always going to be a chore, but this app does go a long way towards making your debt feel more manageable.
My Mountain of Debt requires iOS 5.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
