Frantic Fingers! iPhone Game Review: WarioWare for iOS, Sorta

[app id=”623211168″]

Frantic Fingers! is an iPhone game developed by Voltic. If you’ve played any of Nintendo’s WarioWare games, then the manic onslaught of minigames you’re faced with in Frantic Fingers! is bound to be somewhat familiar.

There are three main game modes: Main, Hard, and Sudden Death. In Main Mode, the difficulty level is increased along a progressive scheme. You will have six lives in this mode, as well as in Hard Mode (however, the difficulty is just plain hard across the board in Hard Mode.) The final mode is Sudden Death, where the difficulty is progressive, but you have just one life.

Some of these microgames involve rubbing out a chalk drawing with an eraser, building a burger, bouncing a ball over a deep chasm, avoiding bombs, or blasting objects. They are simple tasks, but you often have just a few seconds to get your bearings, figure out the controls, and master the game.

As the game progresses, you’ll be asked to complete a series of microtasks with little explanation of what’s expected of you. That means there’s a bit of trial and error.

But the games are so darn enjoyable that the frantic confusion you experience is all part of the fun. If you are a Type A personality, this game might just stress you out: for me, it’s frantic fun!!!

With 60 mini-games (and more to come in the future), Frantic Fingers! offers a lot of game for a very small amount of cash. Factor in the three competitive game modes and full Game Center support, and this game’s a winner in my book. I haven’t played WarioWare in a dog’s age, and this game brought back some great memories of playing it with friends in years past!

Frantic Fingers is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
