nPlayer iPhone App Review: A Great Tool for Movies, Music, and More

nPlayer iPhone App

[app id=”539397400″]

nPlayer is an iPhone app developed by Newin, Inc. This handy little app allows users to play almost all kinds of video formats and codecs…without the hassle of having to convert those files!

nPlayer allows users to play a whole host of files that Apple products generally don’t play nice with. In terms of video files, some supported types include MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WMV, ASF, FLV, OGV, and RMVB. For audio files, nPlayer can play MP3, WAV, WMA, and yes, even FLAC.

Love to watch anime, K-dramas, or foreign films? nPlayer also handles subtitles much better than comparable apps. It can handle SMI, SRT, SSA, SUB, and LRC subtitle formats. You can also adjust the size and color of the subtitles!

nPlayer also boasts a built-in WebDAV client to stream and download media files, as well as FTP and SMB clients. But what I like even more than all of these capabilities is the app design itself.

The app is very easy to navigate, and accepts a number of intuitive gestures to operate the nPlayer interface. You double tap to operate the play/pause feature, and drag on the subtitles themselves to change their size and location. Volume and brightness can be adjusted by dragging on either side of the screen.

If you refuse to be told what formats you can and cannot use to enjoy your favorite TV shows, movies, and songs, then nPlayer is the right tool for you. It has a list of features and supported formats that’s a mile long, and you can use it for both streaming content and content stored locally. Don’t miss out on this great app.

nPlayer is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
