Skyrim to get ‘Redguard’ DLC?

Admit it, you can’t get enough of Skyrim. And with Dragonborn — the latest Skyrim DLC — being such a big hit, it’s really no surprise that Bethesda and Zenimax aren’t ready to move on from this franchise just yet.

Rumors have been rumbling that Skyrim, the fift entry in the highly successful Elder Scrolls franchise, is about to get another DLC. There was talk about the latest expansion focusing on the Thalmor but we’ve just gotten word that it might be something called “Redguard.” Gamerant reports:

“It has recently been discovered that Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax has been extending the trademark for one ‘Redguard,’ listed by the company as a ‘downloadable computer game software,’ and has been since March of 2011 — with the most recent being August of last year. As ZeniMax has not filed a Statement of Use for this title, the trademark will lapse next month unless another extension is made.”

The gaming news site, however, notes that this could also actually be for a completely new title, possibly even for next-gen consoles like the Xbox 720 “as Bethesda is not a developer known to overlook the inevitability of progress.” With Microosft already teasing that the Xbox 360 successor may make an appearance at the upcoming E3, it really much of a stretch for gaming companies like Bethesda to already be working on titles for that upcoming console.

Another possibility that Gamerant posits, and one that we probably would be more excited about, is that Redguard will not be a DLC for Skyrim but a remake of The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, a 1998 entry to the franchie released for the PC.

What do you think Tapscapers? Would you want another DLC for Skyrim focusing on the Redguard or would you like it to be a separate game? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
