TapStartup iPhone Game Review: Tap-Happy Office Fun

Price: $0.99     Score: 8.5/10     Category: Games

TapStartup is an iPhone game developed by Sentzlab. TapStartup is a fun timewaster that lets you pretend to own your own startup company.

Sentzlab is also the brains behind the Android app Finger Tease and Tittat (and iOS/Android offering where girls can share secrets about boys.)

The controls in TapStartup, not surprisingly, are tap-based. As your workers start to get sleepy (which costs you money in terms of productivity), you tap them to wake them up.

You can also provide your team with a water cooler and snacks to help boost their energy levels. You need to find a good balance between pushing your staff to work hard and giving them a break: over-tired workers can go berserk!

If you want to test your reflexes without getting frustrated, you’re in luck. The controls are nice and responsive: the only cause of frustration when it comes to gameplay will be the limits of your own fingers.

There are two main game modes: career mode and survival mode. Career mode starts you off easy with a Level 1 group of employees in what appears to be the saddest office, ever. It might be a bit slow-placed for some players, however, so it’s nice that you can launch into survival mode right off the bat, which is a bit more challenging and fun. You can easily pause the game during this mode if you need a break while trying to get your longest run ever.

Featuring Game Center support, multiple levels, cute graphics, and simple gameplay, TapStartup is a great timewaster that you need to check out. Be forwarned: TapStartup’s insidious little guitar song will get stuck in your head for days, even if you only play a single round.

TapStartup is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
