Thrillcall Live Music Android App Review

Price: Free     Score: 8/10      Category: Music & Audio

If you live in a metro area, then you’re probably used to having a lot of options when it comes to live music, but getting tickets for your favorite bands can be difficult. Even more difficult is finding tickets when you make a spontaneous decision to go to a show. The Thrillcall Live Music app, from Thrillcall.com, wants to help you find great last minute deals on hot shows, even at the last minute. Even when a show is sold out, Thrillcall can help you get tickets, and even backstage passes, when they’re available.

It’s not available for everyone, in fact the exclusive offers are only available in three metro areas: San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City. Thrillcall is working on bringing more cities into the fold, but it’s still a work in progress. Other than the exclusive offers, Thrillcall offers a lot of information about upcoming sh0ws and events. Tons of information and up-to-the minute details on music listings for many major cities, flash show information and ticket purchases, and social media sharing with your friends to help get everyone together for the night are just a few more of the other great features about Thrillcall.

Don’t expect to use Thrillcall for planning out concert attendance well in advance, that’s not really the point of this Android app. Instead, Thrillcall is dedicated to helping you make the most of spontaneous decisions. The interface is is designed around that concept of quickly finding information and then making a purchasing decision. The availability of tickets that aren’t available anywhere else, even the major ticket vendors, makes this app invaluable to those who aren’t particularly good about making their plans in advance. The application operates fairly smoothly, though there were a few hiccups when trying to move between screens. There were never any crashes during testing, but be prepared to wait a bit between screens sometimes, though if you just close the app and reopen the delay issue disappears. It’s sometimes annoying, but it’s not a deal breaker by any means.

You can use Thrillcall by creating a log-in, or by using Facebook Connect. You can select your location from a list of metro areas, but again keep in mind that the exclusive offers are available in only three cities. Going to the ‘Tonight’s Music’ tab at the bottom of the app brings up a list of all the shows scheduled for that evening. From that screen users can scroll up and down, then select certain shows for more information. If tickets are available you can make the purchase right from in the app as well, bringing everything together in one neat little package. The app is very easy to use and navigate, and all the screens are self explanatory, so you won’t find yourself lost of confused about how to proceed.

Overall this is a great app for music lovers from metro areas. The upcoming addition of more cities to the exclusive offer list should help make this app indispensable to audiophiles across the U.S., and help people make very memorable nights.
