iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C Headed to Boost Mobile, Evleaks Shows

Evleaks is famous for his knowledge of smartphones and their releases, knowledge that he knows before said devices are released. In any case, Evleaks is back with another leak, this one regarding Apple’s latest smartphones: the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

In Evleak’s Twitter announcement, he writes “they’re coming,” followed by two posters showing both smartphones. Notice in the leaked pictures that Boost Mobile wants to market these two phones differently, appealing to two different consumer types that will buy either of them. The iPhone 5C poster says “Brilliant colors. Brilliant plan.,” while the iPhone 5S poster says “Legendary Phone. Legendary Plan.” The names of the two phones are listed below each one, with the “Boost Mobile” brand and logo at the bottom left of the two posters.

We’ve not been told as of yet when Boost Mobile will place the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C up for sale. However, you can be assured that, since these posters have already been leaked, it’s a matter of time before Boost Mobile offers Apple’s latest and greatest.

What You Need to Know Before You Buy: iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C

The iPhone 5, Apple’s darling of 2012, has been put to rest for Apple. The company decided to take the iPhone 5 glory and attach it to two smartphones – which explains why the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C still retain the “iPhone 5” nomenclature. At the same time, these two phones are not the same. There are some noticeable differences between the two.

The iPhone 5S is the iPhone 5 with some technical modifications. In the place of a regular home button on the iPhone 5 stands a fingerprint scanner (embedded within the home button) that works with Touch ID software. Apple has improved its camera experience in the iPhone 5S by adding both a white and amber light to its camera (dual LED flash). The goal has been to improve Apple’s lighted shots so that you get more light in your outdoor photos (and less dark effect). This will help with both outdoor photos during the afternoon and indoor photos in the evening.

The iPhone 5S, to add to the camera and Touch ID effects, also comes with a new color: champagne. You no longer have to choose between the black and white colors with nowhere else to turn. At the moment, you may have to turn to these two colors, since the champagne-colored iPhone 5S could be out of stock. Apple has increased production by 33% to keep these “gold beauties” churnin’, but you may have to wait a while.

As for the iPhone 5C, it is similar to the iPhone 5 (the exception being a slightly larger battery) but has everything you loved about the iPhone 5 in one package. You should also know, however, that the iPhone 5S is outselling the iPhone 5C three-to-one, so you may not want to select this option. If you want the greatness of the iPhone 5C but do not care for the colors or the polycarbonate plastic, you can always purchase an iPhone 5 for $99 with a two-year contract from the four major carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon).

Boost Mobile customers, you won’t have to wait much longer. If you like Sprint’s service but want something a little cheaper, this Sprint MVNO looks like the one to choose. At the same time, you may want to take a look at Republic Wireless and its $299 Moto X that will emerge next month (November). The $299 Moto X looks to be a more attractive option than paying $549 or $649 out-of-pocket with Boost Mobile.
