Square Enix is getting in on the so-called “augmented reality” game with the release of Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy. This awkwardly titled app allows you to place character models from various Final Fantasy games into real-world settings such as on your desk or on your car or on your head or on your roof or anywhere else you can think of.
The app includes four characters: Cloud Strife from FF7, Lightning from FFXIII, Terra Branford from FFVI, and Warrior of Light from the original Final Fantasy. Presumably, the game may include more characters in the future via downloadable online slots content.
Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy is currently priced at $4.99. Seems like an outrageous price for something that is essentially just photoshopping your pictures for you. But price is probably no object for the true Final Fantasy fans out there who are squealing at the very thought of being able to put Cloud wherever they want, whenever they want.
