The process of packing is tedious and yet remains an essential part of a house move. However, you can be smart about it and be more efficient to save time. Just before you make the move and settle into your new Springleaf Residence unit, here are five techniques you should try.
Label the Boxes

Unless you want to waste time looking for a particular item in your packed boxes when arriving, we’d suggest you label all of them. You can be as high tech as you want- print and stick QR codes to scan and get a list, or just use a marker and write on the boxes themselves. You can label according to the item type or the room where they go.
Use the Right Box Size
It would be wise to use every available box space for all your stuff. Don’t just buy five or so large boxes and pack them all in, or else you’ll risk running out of space, or worse, breakage. At the same time, don’t put all the heavy things in just one box, or else you won’t be able to lift or move it.
Keep Important Items Separate and Close
Gather your important documents, including financial papers, moving contracts, medical records, ID, and more, and put them in a secure box or bag. This will travel with you and in your car. If possible, put them in the same vicinity where you keep your car keys, wallet, and phone.
Soft Items as Padding
Using soft items as padding is a smart move. You can save on bubble wrap and use sheets, blankets, and towels instead.
Don’t Forget the Essentials Box
Put all the things you will use as soon as you arrive to prevent mix-ups and confusion. This may include a phone charger, paper towels, snacks, or a change of clothes.
