Calculator # is an iPhone app developed by Incpt.Mobis, the makers of similar apps like Calculator + and Unit Calculator +.

This awesome calculator app allows you to do complex math calculations, including the factoring of polynomials, fraction and degree/angle calculation, and quadratic equations.

Calculator # bills itself as a “free, multi-function calculator [that] possesses a powerful math core and algebra engine with mathematical display support, making it a viable tool for everyone from those looking for basic calculation to more advanced users, such as scientific computation, engineers, and math students.”

Don’t be overwhelmed by all of these features. While some other calculator apps make you feel like you need to have a math degree just to punch the buttons, this helpful app has a great tutorial that helps you get oriented.

The interface is nice, and you even have some skin options. Even on an iPhone’s relatively small screen, this calculator feels well-spaced, and never cramped up.

One feature that this app might benefit from is better utilization of the touch screen. It would be nice for people to have the option of using a finger or stylus to input symbols or numbers. That being said, this app works just fine without that one added perk.

There’s a huge array of other perks here, including the ability to use the app with a wireless keyboard, or a reviewable history tape so you can check your work and find any typos in your work. Unfortunately, PRO Graph is no longer supported as of Version 3.0. Additionally, some functions require upgrading to the sister app, Calculator Infinity. For a free app, this is definitely a robust tool. Still, it may not suit all needs.

Calculator # requires iOS 6.1 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
