EarthSnap is made by Earth.com and is basically an image identification app powered by AI. Simply point your phone’s camera at nature, take a picture, and the app will load information about it that you can read.

It’s a smartphone app, which makes it convenient to have. I like that I can bring it with me whenever I go on a hike or camping trip. It doesn’t take up too much space and has a digital library for all the pictures I take.

Using EarthSnap to Know More About Natural Plants and Wildlife

After downloading the app, I headed to the local park to find out what EarthSnap can do. With my smartphone at the ready, I wanted to find out more about the unique insects and plants around my area.

It didn’t take long, as I spotted a curious bird on a large tree. I took a photo up close and let EarthSnap do the rest. After a few seconds, the app showed me what I was looking at and provided helpful information. It also gave me an option to save to my collection or to share with other people.

Then, I tried the SnapMap and Earthpedia sections to see what new animals or plants were around. I walked to the spot, and found out that it was indeed there. After another photo, the app educated me about things I didn’t know before- it’s so useful not just for kids but for adults too!

EarthSnap is more than just an image identification app and database- it’s a way to find out more about nature and sparking a curiosity about our world.
