After moving to a new place like the Canberra Crescent Residences, you may not have time to cook a proper meal. Teach your children these six easy meals so they won’t go hungry even when you’re out or busy.
Overnight Oats
Contents [show]
Overnight oats is a no-cook meal that’s healthy and nutritious. Place rolled oats and milk in a jar with fruits, maple syrup, or honey. Leave the concoction to ‘cook’ overnight in the refrigerator. When your kids are hungry, they can take it out and eat with a slice of fresh fruit.
Salad Bowl
Choose pre-washed vegetables if your children don’t know how to wash them properly. Combine cucumber, cherry tomatoes, black beans, and salad greens and toss them all together in a bowl with a generous drizzle of dressing. Add some cheese or mayo and they’re good to go.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
A PB&J sandwich requires little skill and can be done in no time at all. Fish out a jar of peanut butter and jelly from the fridge and prepare slices of bread. Using a butter knife, spread some peanut butter on one bread and jelly on the other.
Yogurt with Fruit
Have some plain yogurt on hand so your kids can have a snack whenever they want. All they have to do is get some chopped fruits, berries, or crushed granola bars. It’s similar to ice cream, but it’s healthier.
Cereal with Fruit
Break out the box of cereal and add some milk. It’s that simple. You can turn it into a healthier variant if you have some fruits on hand.
Healthy Tuna Sandwich
Instead of the usual peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you can teach your kids to open a can of tuna or sardines, then mix with mayonnaise. Put on some chopped tomatoes and lettuce and it can serve as lunch or dinner.
