Offering up a massive 150 levels for free, the mechanical puzzler Geared from developer Bryan Mitchell is an addictive and challenging puzzle game with colorful hand-drawn visuals.
The goal of the game is to power the blue gear in each level, which is achieved by bridging the connection with a series of carefully-placed gears. You get a limited number of gears of varying sizes each round, which are dragged from the toolbar and positioned by dropping them in to place. The playing grid is no-snap, so ‘gravity’ must also be taken into account.
The game rises in difficulty as you progress through the rounds, with the addition of ‘no drop zones’, multiple blue gears and more. If you get stuck on a level you can simply hit ‘reset’ and try again. If you get really stuck you can skip ahead to any of the 150 levels that come loaded with Geared, or one of the additional 50 levels that can be purchased as a pack for $0.99 if you’re looking for an extra challenge.
Geared is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later
