The very nature of retro gaming means that it is forever adapting and including games that are seen as “old” compared to what we play now. With the ever growing library of games available, there are many iconic characters that reign supreme and dominate as being important to gaming history.

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong has come a long way since he was stood at the top of the screen throwing barrels down at a character that looked suspiciously like Mario. Arguably the game that led to Mario Bros. Donkey Kong has caused obsessions as well as nostalgia. We’ve seen him come and go in different guises throughout the history of Nintendo, but in the end it is always the same old giant ape whether he is in a platform game or driving a Kart.
