Sony Hints At Playstation 4 With ‘Console War’ Registration

Could we finally be on the verge of hearing something official about the Playstation 4? That just may be the case, based on Sony’s recent online activity.

Our friends over at Fusible have shared that Sony Pictures have registered several internet domains such as ‘ConsoleWarMovie.com,’ ‘TheConsoleWarMovie.com’ and several others related to the phrase ‘Console War.’  According to reports, a total of 18 domanins were registered last August 23 via MarkMonitor, hinting that whatever Sony has planned for these domains may have been because of fairly recent developments.

While the domains were not registered by Sony Computer Entertainment, speculation is rife across the internet that this may be related to an ad campaign or viral marketing for the upcoming Playstation 4. Then again, with the popularity of video games, it’s possible that Sony Pictures is really in the process of developing a movie based on gaming culture, perhaps something like Shooter from 2007. if that is the case, hopefully this new movie is way less crappy.

Here’s a full list of all the domains registered:

  • console-war.net
  • console-warmovie.com
  • console-wars.net
  • console-warsmovie.com
  • consolewar-movie.com
  • consolewar-movie.net
  • consolewar.net
  • consolewarmovie.com
  • consolewars-movie.com
  • consolewars-movie.net
  • consolewarsmovie.com
  • theconsolewar-movie.com
  • theconsolewar-movie.net
  • theconsolewar.net
  • theconsolewarmovie.com
  • theconsolewars-movie.com
  • theconsolewars-movie.net
  • theconsolewarsmovie.com

As of this writing, Sony’s keeping their mouth shut but we’ll be waiting to see how this develops and if it’s related to the Playstation 4. Be sure to check back here at Tapscape for more details!
