Sony Xperia XZ & Xperia X Compact Release Date, Price and Specs

At the IFA 2016 conference held in Berlin, Germany, Sony’s upcoming smartphones, Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact were put to a spotlight. The Xperia XZ is the successor to Xperia X and is the second flagship gadget from the Japanese company.

The two smartphones are built with ALKALEIDO aluminum alloy so they have a new sleek and refreshing design. The awesome look and rounded edges offer a premium appeal to both smartphones. Moreover, both phones are water and dust resistant as they are certified from IP68.

Sports and Specs of the Sony Xperia XZ Compact:

Like the other feature phones from Sony, the Xperia XZ comes with a 5.2-inch display and features a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with a RAM of 3GB. The built-in storage is 32GB and using a microSD card external storage can be extended up to 200GB.

According to a report on NDTV, the smartphone features a primary camera of 23MP and a selfie camera of 13MP. For connectivity, it features a Type-C USB. It also sports a fingerprint reader and is powered by a 2,900 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0.

The Sony Xperia XZ will be coming in three color variants viz. Mineral Black, Forest Blue, and Platinum.

Launch Date and Price of Sony Xperia XZ:

In the United States, it will be released on October 23, 2016, and the price would be made public prior to its release. It is not yet known that when will the device roll out in the UK, however, there it will be priced at 599 euros (approx. $672).

Sports and Specs of the Sony Xperia X Compact:

Sony Xperia X Compact comes with a 4.6-inch display and features a full HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
It runs on a Snapdragon 650 chipset featuring a hexacore 2.1 GHz CPU along with Adreno 510 graphics. The RAM installed is 3GB.

The primary camera is 23MP whereas the secondary camera is 5MP and the phone does not feature 4K video shooting, according to GSMArena. Moreover, it features a Type-C USB port and supports Quick Charge 2.0.
The smartphone will be coming in three flavors namely Universe Black, Mist Blue, and White.

Launch Date and Price of Sony Xperia X Compact: In the United States, the device will be rolling out on September 25, 2016, and will be sold for $400-$500. Whereas in the United Kingdom, it will be launched on September 28 and will be priced at 379 euros (approx. $425).

why does the X Compact have a snapdragon 650 and last years Z5 have an 820 processor. Is the new phone slower, cheaper? I noticed other specs seem similar
