A game classic with roots that go all the way back to 2005, StickyBalls Classic is a relatively new addition to the App Store. It includes two modes: classic mode and arcade mode.
StickyBalls Classic is one of those games that is seemingly simple, but actually kinda fiendishly difficult to master.
Using mechanics like billiards or snooker, your goal is to manipulate balls around a table. When balls of the same color collide, they become stuck together. Once you’ve created these ball clusters, they’ll disappear.
The game boasts 18 tables and six different worlds. The main difference between arcade mode and classic mode is that classic more is more of an endurance game. Each level you complete ups the difficulty. This is different from arcade mode, as that mode is more concerned with clearing a set number of balls from the table.
This game is free to play, with optional in-app purchase to remove ads. This is nice, because the ad placement is uniquely annoying, and it’s nice to have the option to get rid of the ads. The app is universal, but do note that the developers recommend this game for people using an iPhone 4 and above, or an iPad 3 and above.
The controls in this game are a little tricky to master. Once you get the hang of aiming and correctly powering your shots, you’ll stop making fouls and start kicking butt.
Overall, this is a simple app that will appeal to fans of physics-based puzzlers, as well as fast-paced arcade games. This is definitely a game worth checking out.
StickyBalls Classic requires iOS 6.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
