Apple announced at WWDC today that it now has 225,000 apps with 5 billion downloads. This is incredible growth, especially when you consider that the iPhone wasn’t even on the market three years ago. To show the tremendous scope of the app store, Apple has erected a hyperwall made of 30 Mac Pro towers, 385 graphic cards, an XML feed that coalesces app download data every five minutes, and many more advanced technical components.
