Skype already offers one to one video chat on the iPhone and iPad 2. Fring, on the other hand, brought four way chatting to iOS earlier this year. If chatting with three of your friends just doesn’t cut it, Tinychat has you covered with its own intuitive application that will allow you to participate in 12 person video calls.

The app, which works on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, lets users chat with desktop users through a simple Flash based application. Your friends list is displayed when you first sign in to Tinychat’s service. To request a video chat, tap a friend. To add additional friends to the conference call, toggle back to your friends list and tap “invite”.

For now, the application only lets users communicate with Facebook contacts… not with other Tinychat mobile users. The developer reportedly plans to change that in a future update.

Tinychat FB is available from the App Store free of charge. Where will your 14 way conversations take you?

  1. Can multiple chat is oovoo chat service. Not sure on how many people but I think is six if I am not mistaken.

  2. Have you ever video chatted with multiple people, let alone 12? Give it a try. It makes you want to pull your hair out. I agree that 12 sounds like an impressive number, but try getting your voice heard and following a thread of conversation through 12 people’s different connection speeds and dropped frames. I’ll stick to Facebook Video Chat Rounds for now, thank you! ( )
