Verizon Chief Financial Adviser Fran Shammo claims the next generation iPhone will launch simultaneously on Verizon and AT&T and will offer global coverage.

While Verizon sold fewer iPhone 4 devices than most analysts expected, Shammo is content with sales in just six months.

“When the next iPhone model launches Verizon will be able to offer it at the same time as AT&T. Verizon’s version will also work in as many countries as AT&T’s iPhone, which has global coverage,” Shammo told Reuters.

Shammo also noted that if the next generation iPhone doesn’t support LTE, Verizon offers plenty of devices tailored to those looking for a faster connection.

“I think it’s a bigger issue for Apple than it is for us,” he continued. “Depending on where Apple plays, that’s where we’ll sell.”

Prior industry reports indicated that a satisfactory LTE chip would not be ready in time for the release of the iPhone 5.
