Gaming sessions are fun- playing with your favorite game, going on ranked or just connecting with friends from your new home at One Chuan Grove. However, the extended hours can affect your health, signaling body pains when sitting for long periods or experiencing eye strain. Here are some tips to prevent this.
20/20/20 Rule
The 20/20/20 rule is a habit that people can develop to help with eye strain when staring at a screen. How does it work? For every 20 minutes take a break from the tablet or computer, usually after finishing a level, or pause the story for just a bit, after that look 20 feet away and at an object and for the next 20 seconds just stare at it.
Adopt Proper Posture with the Right Setup
Maintaining proper posture is important to keep your back straight and prevent any pains. If you do not have ergonomic equipment, you can use a pillow as a substitute for your lower back on your chair. Place your screen at optimal height so that you do not have to tilt your head up or down and have neck pains.
You must remain comfortable. Having a space that is cramped forces you in awkward positions and could affect your health. Make sure that your setup is also bright enough with a natural light source or a lamp on your desk to prevent eye strain.
Stay Hydrated and Stretch Often
After your game or if you are just taking a break from the story, go grab a glass of water and walk and stretch for a few moments after exercising your eyes following the 20/20/20 rule. This keeps you hydrated to keep the blood flowing in your body. If you are feeling fatigued, doing this can help refresh your mind and stay sharp.
