Adobe, the developer behind Adobe Flash, has taken further steps toward supporting iOS devices by adding an “export” option to its Flash Media Server product.

Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5 allows producers of Flash video content to automatically export to HTML5 using the same assets. Version 4.5 allows content to be played on platforms that do not support Flash — including certain Apple devices.

The HTML5 platform has been gaining momentum lately as an alternative to Adobe Flash, thanks in part to the popularity of Apple’s mobile operating system.

Apple says it will never support Flash because of  “technology issues.”
