Apple British Designer in Chief Jonathan Ive, known to most as Jony, has been knighted in United Kingdom for his “services to design and enterprise”.
Ive received the accolade as part of the annual New Years honors list for his ability to develop devices ranging from the original Macintosh computers to the more modern iPhones, iPads and Macbooks.
“I am keenly aware that I benefit from a wonderful tradition in the UK of designing and making. To be recognized with this honor is absolutely thrilling and I am both humbled and sincerely grateful,” Ive said of the honor.
“I discovered at an early age that all I’ve ever wanted to do is design,” Ive continued. ” I feel enormously fortunate that I continue to be able to design and make products with a truly remarkable group of people here at Apple.”
