After releasing and then removing the app some hours later, it appears Apple is moving forward with refunds for the accidentally released ‘GameStore’ app used to test in-app purchases prior to the release of iOS 3.

Don’t beat yourself down if you didn’t have the chance to grab the application before Apple removed it. The app was useless, functionally speaking. ‘GameStore’ was specifically designed to test in-app purchasing and didn’t offer many working pieces.

Some who spent the 99 cents to purchase the experimental application saw it as something worth collecting.

Despite its quick removal from the iOS App Store, ‘GameStore’ offered enthusiasts a rare glimpse into Apple’s internal world.
