It appears as though the wait for Square Enix’s ‘Final Fantasy Tactics’ iPhone game is finally coming to an end. In a post on their European Blog, Square Enix announced that ‘Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions’ will become available in the App Store on Thursday for £10.99. In the US, the price should look more like $14.99.
The game is a remake of ‘Final Fantasy Tactics’, which released for the Sony PlayStation before Steve Jobs even thought of the iPod. The new edition for iOS features some significant upgrades, including better graphics, improved script translation, and rather impressive cutscenes. The remake is additionally optimized for the iPhone’s touch screen, so the controls should be self explanatory.
Square Enix also noted that an iPad version of the game is in the works. The big screen experience might be worth the wait for those familiar with the incredible graphics of Final Fantasy games.
‘Tactics’ will be the company’s first App Store submission since the Final Fantasy Augmented Reality Game it launched earlier this year.
