Google was always going to release its official Cardboard Camera app for its Android platform, but we’re glad to see that the application that allows you to capture VR photos has also been released for Apple’s iOS platform. The app is going to be compatible with Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPad touch, and all the compatibility details and useful information has been listed below. For the iOS app, Google has introduced new features for iPhones and iPad that users would like to take advantage of.
The app allows users to capture and share three-dimensional panoramas that Google calls VR Photos. In addition, you can also share them for viewing in smartphone-based VR viewers like its own Google Cardboard and others.
Just like you see a 360-degree image in Facebook, you can look around to explore the image in all directions, but here’s one feature that Facebook did not include. You can even hear sound recorded while you take the photo to hear the moment exactly as it happened. To capture a VR photo, you have to hold your device vertically, tap record, then turn around as though you’re taking a panorama image.
If you’re interested in downloading the app for your iOS device, we have listed all necessary details as well as the download link below.
