inStatus is an iPhone app developed by Thang Dinh. This handsome app allows you to blend your favorite photos with elegant typography, and then share your creations on Instagram and Twitter.
Currently, Facebook sharing directly from the app has been disabled. You can still save and share to Facebook the standard way, but direct sharing from the app has been temporarily suspended. The developers are working on a fix, and the app indicates that they are just waiting for Apple to approve the fix.
The next update will also fix a bug where watermarks are being placed on user photos. To fix this in the meantime, you can just remove your photo, insert a template, and then clear it. This should be the workaround you need.
Boasting 89 fonts and over 100 different colors, inStatus offers multiple ways to layer text on top of your photographs. Of course, if you hate all your photos, you can select from the nearly 250 available backgrounds in the app. There are also 50 professionally designed templates to help you get started if you need some direction.
If you need even more inspiration, you can shake your iPhone and the inStatus app will generate a “deep and funny” quote. That’s just one nice aspect of this UI. It’s also insanely simple to add color to the text for emphasis, resize the text, or add new layers of text.
The best feature of this app is undoubtedly the autosave. If inStatus crashes or you forget to plug in your phone, the autosave will keep you from losing your current project. This is a huge time saver, and a great boon for anyone who just spent 30 minutes designing the perfect virtual birthday card using this app.
