With the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C released to the world, attention can now be turned to what Apple may have in store for the iPhone 6 in 2014.

We’ve seen that the iPhone 5S aesthetically didn’t vary greatly from the previous iPhone 5 model, with the addition of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor being the only major physical difference.

That is set to change when the iPhone 6 is released next year, since Apple’s release cycle for the iPhone tends to introduce a major design change in between the ‘S’ speed bumps.

Whilst the iPhone 5S followed the usual ‘S’ internal hardware upgrade and focused mainly on software, the iPhone 6 is expected to look completely different from the current iPhone models. Federico Ciccarese of Ciccarese Design has mocked up a concept of what he thinks the iPhone 6 could look like.

He has dubbed the iPhone 6 the iPhone Air, borrowing the logic that Apple introduced with the iPad Air recently of a light portable device. The naming is not all he borrowed, with the actual design of the iPhone Air looking akin to the iPad Mini and iPad Air design. The concept features a larger display, and with many rumours speculating Apple may finally depart from the 4-inch display, the concept suggests how the iPhone 6 or iPhone Air may incorporate a larger screen.
