MacBook Pro Touch Bar playing DOOM

If you have the available funds to get yourself the newest MacBook Pro that comes with a Touch Bar, then there several possibilities that you can overcome, one of them being the ability to play games on that uniquely made Touch Bar.

Even though Apple’s strict policies prevent you from overcoming these possibilities, Facebook engineer Adam Bell managed to scale these limitations and actually installed DOOM onto the Touch Bar. The resolution of the Touch Bar measures at 2170 x 80, so it really does not make an ideal environment for playing, but the fact that it can still be done shows that it is still an impressive feat that has been accomplished.

Unfortunately, while you might be able to run DOOM, you cannot control your character and enjoy the gameplay elements of the first-person shooter. However, Bell managed to use the Touch Bar to display the HUD of Doom, where players can look at their health points, ammo, stats, weapons, and more, which is still quite useful. The video of how the engineer managed to accomplish this feat has been given below, so be sure to take a look at it when you’re free.

If you want to own a MacBook Pro that comes with a Touch Bar, then you will have to spend an extraordinary $1,799 on the base model, which will get you a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB PCIe-based SSD storage. This is not a whole lot of improvements as far as the pricing and hardware specifications go, but you’re forgetting that the storage is extremely fast because it utilizes the PCIe interface, making the machine much faster and even more responsive compared to other machines.

The MacBook Pro that comes with the unique Touch Bar is available in both the 13 and 15-inch screen sizes.
