Which should not be confused with an Apple TV — the little black hobby puck — or an actual Apple-branded television set that hangs on your wall. Once-upon-a-time tech journalist and now Google Ventures partner M.G. Siegler has been hearing interesting things about Apple and a TV product that’s all about interaction.

Apple is making a television set! Apple’s content deals! Apple is, at least according to M.G. Siegler, working a new TV related device or, since we’re throwing shtuff against the wall, perhaps even an updated Apple TV:

Not to go into rumor central here, but the latest things like I’ve heard are some sort of television product — not necessarily a television screen but something — could be coming as soon as this November. And, I think there’s some surprises there about what it could actually be and I don’t [know] for sure what it could actually be, but there’s been whispers about, so I’m not going to write anything about it. But there’s whispers out there that the interaction with it could be the interesting thing. People have talked about voice, but I think that’s out the window and there might be some new way to interact with whatever this thing is.

Interesting? Perhaps.

That said, the point of Siegler’s reveal is he’s fishing — he puts out a little information, while withholding a key point or two, in the hopes that other folks with inside knowledge will step forward, either contacting him directly or outing the purported Cupertino’s Apple TV related product plans in the media.

And, don’t forget that Siegler is a Google Ventures partner — he’s hardly a disinterested party.

That said, what “new way to interact” do you think Apple’s working on? Remember Steve Jobs said before he died that he had “finally cracked TV” — motion control a la Microsoft Kinect? The iWatch?

Inquiring minds, and M.G. Siegler, want to know…
