Netflix CEO Reed Hastings took the stage at WWDC today to announce the near future arrival of the streaming service on the iPhone.

Though details are limited, the Netflix app on the iPhone will be free for existing Netflix subscribers. It will also support 3G and utilize “adaptive bitrate technology” to maintain its connection when you move between networks. Hastings also mentioned that viewers will be able to pick up with movies where they left off, just like you can on all other devices.
