The first thing you’ll notice about Pilo1 when you check out their App Store description is the overwhelming number of awards, accolades, and notable achievements that the developers have trotted out. Among them: “Grand Prize”in Smart App Awards 2012 and “First Prize” in Econovation Award at the KT App Creation Contest. It’s a potentially dangerous business strategy because it sets up very high expectations for the app itself.
However, those high expectations are not shattered. In Pilo1, you and your child can watch a story unfold. The main character is a young child who hates having to go to bed. Gifted with a charming “pillow doll,” the child goes off to “Dreamland” with the doll to play all kinds of fun bedtime games.
Featuring English, Chinese, and Korean audio recorded by professional native dubbing artists, I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality of both the animation and the voiceover work. The App Store screenshots give the impression of a cluttered, messy app experience, but that isn’t the case at all in the actual app.
Pilo1 is great in your iPhone, but of course it is even better on your iPad. However, the app is universal, so you can choose whatever size is best for your child: young kids with tiny hands might actually prefer the small screen of an iPhone compared to an iPad.
If you have kids who don’t want to go to sleep when its bedtime, it will drive you crazy. However, this app will help kids identify with a character who also hates sleeping, and learn to love bedtime. And sharing this app at nighttime is sure to help kids develop a good sleeping routine. This cute app is sure to delights kids and adults alike.
