Price: $1.99     Score: 9/10     Category: Travel

Sometimes, it’s surprisingly hard to find a cab. Maybe it’s a busy holiday evening (like New Year’s Eve), or maybe you just don’t know the name of any local cab companies.

Whether you’re at home or abroad, when you need a taxi, you need it fast. Taxi INT is an iPhone app with support for English, Russian, and Ukranian that can help you track down a taxi, no matter where in the world you find yourself.

At present, Taxi INT currently includes support for the following countries: Russia, USA, Ukraine, Germany, France, England, Belarus, Singapore, Emirates, Moldova, Italy, Turkey, Canada, Australia and China

All major cities are covered in these countries, with the developers constantly updating the product to include data for new cities. There’s also a free version available for you to try before you buy the $1.99 version.

As you’d expect, the free version of Taxi INT isn’t quite as helpful as the paid app, and only 1-5 taxi companies will show up on the list for any given city. If you travel a lot, chances are you’ll want to spring for a version of the app that’s fully loaded.

Taxi INT automatically detects your location, and uses that data to track down cab operators closest to you. Each city’s listing has a ratings system, so you can easily tell which companies are the most reputable and trustworthy.

You’ll also get vital information, such as the minimum fare and the cost per mile, as well as the all-important phone number to reach them at. The interface is clean, polished, and super easy to navigate.

And when you’re in a hurry (or maybe a bit tipsy after a night on the town), that simplicity is essential. Getting home safe, and getting to your destination on time are the two most important things that any traveler wants while on the go. With this simple to use iPhone app, any traveler is going to feel a lot more confident when trying to get around.

Taxi INT is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
