Ways to Secure Your Facebook Account in 2019

Facebook has become such an important part in our lives that we’d be devastated if anything happens to it.

Imagine the great stress if ever a hacker Facebook got inside your account not only to change your profile pic, but do all sorts things that may damage your reputation. It’s not uncommon for these malicious entities to meddle with funds of users who send and receive money via the platform.

Thankfully, there are a few ways to make sure this doesn’t happen in 2019.

Activate Two Factor Authentication. With this feature turned on, your Facebook account will stay safe and secure as long as other people don’t have access to your smartphone. When a person tries to log in your FB account from an unknown location, they will be prompted to enter a code which is sent to your registered mobile number.

Make Sure You’re On The Official Page. Always double check the URL of the website. It should be www.Facebook.com, and mustn’t be in any other format. Hackers often try to trick you into thinking you’re putting your user name and password in a legitimate site; instead, your credentials will be captured via a fake website that looks like the real thing.

Log In Only On Trusted Computers. Don’t log in on public computers, such as the one in libraries and terminals. Stick to your devices and the friends you trust. Most of the time, hackers put in a keylogging program that records keyboard strokes. If it’s not important, log on to your home computer or your smartphone later.

Change Passwords Every 6 Months. Make it harder for entities to guess your password by making it strong and changing it ever so often. Don’t put in something that’s too obvious- password1234, your birthday or your first and last name. Add special characters and numbers to keep them guessing and keep your account safe from their attempts.
