MoolaCon: Download and Initial Impressions
Contents
MoolaCon is available to download on the App Store. It’s free and has in-app purchases, optimized for iPad. That said, the layout is more cramped on a smaller screen, but it’s just a minor thing.
The app is easy to spot, and after a quick download I’m opening MoolaCon. There’s a tutorial to show each feature in action, so you can set a realistic budget and then track your spending as you go.
The MoolaCon Experience
What separates MoolaCon from the rest is its Spending Readiness Condition, a 5-tier system to show the user how ‘healthy’ they are, budget-wise. The mechanism updates in real time, and whenever you plug something in it. What’s interesting is that it’s different depending on the day of the month- I get a 5 right at the start, mostly because my budget is still intact, and it slowly decreases as the weeks go.
There’s a countdown timer when the spend goes into a deficit- it’s displayed in remaining days, hours, minutes, and seconds and signals when you could get to a higher readiness level. This is mostly a game of patience- do something for free or simply don’t spend until you get back on track. The app trends continue further and predict your budget and financial standing until year-end.
Accessing the app is convenient if you have it on your iPhone, and this will serve you well if you use MoolaCon more often.
Stress-Free Budgeting – Is MoolaCon Worth the Download?
MoolaCon is great for those who don’t want to get bogged down in too many numbers and spreadsheets. The readiness level is unique to the app and serves as an excellent indicator of how well you’re doing in the month. Overall, it’s an excellent personal budget app for beginners and the experienced.
