Asus Padfone 2 Packaging

Previously, we reported that Asus had launched a peculiar device that should answer all of your mobile computing needs — the Asus PadFone.

What’s interesting about the device is that the seemingly run-of-the-mill 4.3 inch Android phone can actually slip into something called a Padfone station, turning it into a 10-inch tablet. That tablet in turn can be placed into a keyboard dock that further increases not only your device’s capabilities by turning it into a notebook but it also increases your Padfone’s battery life.

If you were just as blown away by the Asus Padfone by us and were seriously considering getting one, you may want to wait a little longer because we’ve got word that a new one is on its way and we’ve got the specs for you today!

According to Endgadget, a Chinese forum has gotten a hold of the Asus Padfone 2’s packaging and have shared it to eager fans. Here’s what we can expect:

However, and update says there might be some issues with the packaging that puts the authenticity of the leak in doubt — if you look closely, the icon for the screen says “Super AMOLED” and yet the description below says “Super IPS+ HD.” Could this be proof that the leak was bogus or are we looking at a packaging error here? Either way, we won’t have to wait long to find out what the official specs of the Asus Padfone 2 are; a launch event has been scheduled for October 16 and we’ll have more details for you then.
