Developed by 2peaches, Downloader for SoundCloud is a SoundCloud app for iPhone. Probably one of the best new music discovery services on the web, SoundCloud lets you find tracks by both big name artists as well as remixes, mashups and original songs from unknown and indie DJ’s.
The Downloader for SoundCloud makes use of the SoundCloud API to allow you to search directly on SoundCloud for music. You can locate tracks, play them and then download them to your iPhone – all from within the application.
When you find a song you simply click on it to listen. The same wave-form overview of the song that you get on the website also works on your iPhone. You can tap and drag anywhere along the song to skip forward or backwards. Just like on the web app, you can like or share the song with friends.
Follow the download links from the track listings to download the songs to your iPhone. The app has a download manager so you can check on the progress of the downloads. Once finished, you can listen to your new music by using the integrated music player, which works in a similar way to the native iOS music app. You can even control your music from the lock-screen using the same controls that normally apply to the iPhone ‘Music’ app.
