Galaxy is a simple app that allows people to chat, play games, share photos, and send virtual pets and gifts. There are also avatars that you can customize, as well as microblogging features.
There are a whole host of social games that you can play on Galaxy, including Battleship and Tic Tac Toe. Original games like Four Elements Fight and Civilization are also available.
If you like to score bragging rights on social platforms but find that games aren’t really your thing, you should check out Galaxy’s Photo Battles feature. These photo contests give you a reason to share more photos with your friends.
I was pleasantly surprised at the ad-free nature of this app. With no distracting banner ads or pop ups, this app was much more enjoyable to browse than other apps in the same category.
One issue I did have with this app was the fact that it didn’t play nice with my mobile VPN. I had to temporarily disable my VPN in order to get the app to load correctly. Other than that one issue, however, Galaxy was stable and bug-free. Do note that this app requires a network connection.
Overall, I found myself feeling nostalgic in all the right ways when I was using this app. It might sound like I’m saying this app is dated, and perhaps it isn’t the most sleek and modern of interfaces.
And yet, I found Galaxy to be very reminiscent of IRC and web chat platforms in the 90s, not in terms of design, but in a hard-to-categorize way. This app has a certainje ne said quoithat just made me feel young and optimistic in a way that social chat hasn’t done for me in years!
In short, Galaxy is a really fun app that genuinely makes you want to connect with people. There are tons of activities to keep you interested, and a huge array of potential new friends to meet!
