InFrame Foto iPhone App Review

Price: $0.99     Score: 9/10     Category: Photo & Video

InFrame Foto is a cool new photo app that hit the App Store earlier this month. It helps you combine multiple photos into one single “frame” and then allows you to export that image to your image gallery, or share it with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or email.

It’s a cool way to create montages of your vacation photos or share snapshots of your family or favorite pet in a way that looks clean and professional. However, InFrame Foto isn’tperfect. Let’s break it down.

There are a total of 36 different frames to choose from, each with spots for different photos to be inserted. The frames have anywhere from one to 16 slots for individual photos in various configurations to create cool combinations, and there are four different frame ratios to select from as well.

You can use sliders to change the borders of each image from perfect squares to rounded corners, as well as a slider to change the width of the image displayed. The white space of the frame can be changed to one of seven other colors to best complement the color scheme of your photos.

With a super easy interface, InFrame Foto is very simple to navigate. And with so many options to choose from, you really do get a sense of being able to customize your creation.

While it is nice to be able to play with the frames, the app does have one obnoxious drawback: you can only insert photos already in your camera roll, not take photos and insert them on the fly.

By contrast, the app GridLens lets you do exactly that, so you may want to check that out and compare the two apps to see which is best for your needs.

InFrame Foto is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this iPhone app review.
