My Paper Plane 3 is an original and challenging arcade-style game from developer Wavecade. Fly-by-the-seat-of-your-hands as you glide your folded aircraft through colorful 3D environments, collecting stars and aiming for the big scores.
Collect stars in each of the levels to earn bronze, silver and gold medals which unlock new worlds as well as new planes. Grab as many stars as you can without missing one to rack up big combos and extra points. You’ll need to weave your plane around obstacles, fly through rings and dodge moving characters in order to collect all of the stars on each level.
When you start the game there’s only one level available, and the requirements to reach the next one are pretty low but soon you’ll have to fly with some wit in order to progress. A quick tutorial at the start of the game outlines the simplicity and intuitiveness of the controls – just tilt your device to steer your plane. There’s no speed control, no weapons, it’s refreshingly basic and very responsive.
The levels are full of speed-boosts, magnets and ‘magic unicorns’ which help you along the way. Using power-ups and fulfilling other tasks such as traveling certain distances will earn you achievements through Game-Center.
My Paper Plane 3’s only shortcoming is that it suffers from a shortage of levels, but the developer has promised that more are to come and the multiple levels of difficulty and medals to earn provide lots of replay value.
Bottom Line: The visuals in My Paper Plane 3 are crisp, the interface is easy to navigate and the gameplay is entertaining and challenging.
