The best iPhone apps are often the ones that fill a simple, but urgent, need. MyAvailability, an iPhone productivity app developed by AppNet, offers a simple solution for anyone with a busy work or personal life.

Students, office workers, and parents alike are often asked the same question: “When are you free?” Now, with MyAvailability, you’ll never be stymied when you are asked that very question.

MyAvailability tracks all of your upcoming meetings, conference calls, business trips, and personal obligations. With all that data at its disposal, MyAvailability then presents you with your options for scheduling any upcoming meetings.

The interface of this iPhone app is simple and elegant. MyAvailability automatically checks your Calendar to get a sense of your current engagements. The main screen of MyAvailability simply asks you how long you need for the meeting (and how many hours of travel time you need to get to that meeting.) Once you tell MyAvailability those variables, MyAvailability gives you multiple options for scheduling your next interaction.

The slide bar is a great feature, making it easy to search for possible meeting times up to two months in advance. It would be nice if you could go up to one year in the future to find an acceptable date, however. So many business interactions happen on an annual basis, and it seems odd that you can only schedule 60 days ahead.

Once MyAvailability calculates your available times, you can then easily share that information with clients or colleagues via the “send as email” button.

If you are constantly trying to find an opening in your busy, complex calendar, MyAvailability is a superb option for business pros, students, and moms alike. While $2 might seem a bit stiff to some people who are capable of reading their own calendar with ease, MyAvailability takes the guesswork out of setting meeting dates.

MyAvailability is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this iPhone app review.
