While the TiVo iPad application has been around since late last year, TiVo launched the iPhone counterpart just yesterday. While the latest version is essentially the iPad application reworked for a smaller device, it also offers TiVo HD and Series 3 functionality.

TiVo Series 3 and HD users are limited to the application’s TV guide, scheduling features, remote control, and broadcast search, while Premiere TiVo users can access all of the above and more.

For those users who aren’t subscribed to TiVo, both the iPhone and iPad apps include a Guest mode built to let users “sample the TiVo experience” by browsing and searching through program guides for your service provider.

The best thing about the TiVo application is that users can browse channels and schedule recordings without interrupting content streamin on their TV screen.
